Descripción

On 28th November 2020, sociologist César Rendueles published an article in El Pais titled Capitalocene to explain the appearance of various Marxist-inspired essays which analyse the notion of the anthropocene – humanity as a self-destructive geological force – through the prism of capitalism. The pandemic shut us in a house with a two-year-old son. The first animated images he saw was of Krtek or Little Mole, a Czech series from the 1970s. One of the episodes provides a masterful explanation of the roots of the capitalocene. This docu-essay is a family micro-dialogue for understanding the fossil aesthetic and necropolitics. With the ghosts of Eric Sadin, Paul Vilirio, J. G. Ballard, Jaime Vindel, Déborah Danowski and Eduardo Viveiros.
