Double session and double portrait of two artists and unique personalities in the history of Spain and the fringes of Spanish society: Tesa Arranz, leader of the eighties band Zombies; and Xavier Corberó, artist, sculptor and unique character in that divine Barcelona of the early seventies.

Aliens, Luis López Carrasco, Spain, 2017, 23'

This is, without any doubt, one of the Spanish films of last year. It presents a portrait of Tesa Arranz, a key figure of La Movida Madrileña (the Madrid scene), through her diaries, poems, letters and hundreds of portraits of aliens.

DIRECTOR’S NOTE:

“An alien is someone who is foreign, strange or excluded. In popular culture it means an inhabitant of another planet. Tesa Arranz, with her lucid and hallucinated voice, considers the world as something ‘strange, alien to all my emotions’. During the years of the Movida Madrileña, Tesa was first of all a body, luminous and resplendent, a hypnotised and hypnotic body for thousands of Spaniards who could not even imagine those autistic choreographies, those smiling mechanics. A body with a voice that repeated the verses composed by Bernardo Bonezzi for his group Zombies. After disappearing from the eighties, Tesa would develop a voice from which nothing would escape. The rabid and honest monologue of Tesa describes those years after the death of Franco that laid the foundations for the recent decades of democracy in Spain as a happy and tragic dream, comical and gloomy.”

Viu, Viu, Viu, señor Corberó, Diego Postigo, Spain, 2017, 47'

“During July 2016 we had the opportunity to spend a week in the house-museum of the sculptor Xavier Corberó. With a style from another time, and a way of understanding life full of humour, irony and intelligence, Xavier wanders through the rooms of his house and his memory.

Going over a life full of friendships, work and unique anecdotes involving Dalí, Duchamp, Carmen Amaya and Antonio Gades, Xavier talks about life, death and everything in between. This documentary becomes his last testimony in life.” Diego Postigo.
