Ana Buitrago, choreographer and dancer. She lives in Granada and holds a degree in English Philology by the UCM and in Dance Performance by the SNDO, Amsterdam. At the moment her interests are focused on the displacements that the body and action can set in motion in relation to perception, to then mobilise our choreographic and political imaginaries towards other relationships and conceptions of the world. Displacements that try to seek living approaches that elude ideas of fixity and standardisation. Since 1992 she creates her own choreographies and danced interventions, carrying out in parallel extensive teaching, research and collaboration work with the creative processes of a variety of artists. Throughout her career she has worked with a number of collectives on the creation of contexts and gatherings, for both research and programming; among them UVI-La inesperada, Estudio 3 (Madrid), La Porta dansa independent (Barcelona), Bailar ¿es eso lo que queréis? (Madrid- Granada); recently she has been a member of misiónDivina, an itinerant group that researches body practices and has accompanied the creative gatherings “Brut Nature 2017 and 2018”; La caldera (Barcelona). She currently collaborates in creation and research processes with Ion Munduate, Carolina Carrasco and Quim Bigas.
