Ana Iriarte

Professor of Ancient History at the University of the Basque Country. She holds a PhD from the School of Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences in Paris and was awarded pre- and post-doctoral research grants from the Basque Government. She has been guest professor at Sorbonne University and at the School of Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences in Paris, as well as at the University of Buenos Aires, the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, the Autonomous University of Mexico and the University of Toulouse-Jean Jaurès. She is an associate member of the “Anthropologie et Histoire des Mondes Anciens” (ANHIMA) research laboratory. Her books include Las redes del enigma (1990), Democracia y tragedia (1997), De amazonas a ciudadanos (2002) and Historiografía y mundo antiguo (2011).
