Astronomical images open windows into the sky that help us to understand the Universe.
Contrary to what we may think, the key to astrophotography is not so much the magnification provided by the instruments, but the prolongation of the exposure with motorised equipment that make it possible to follow the celestial bodies during their nocturnal movement. Later, processing techniques help to extract the information emitted thousands of years ago from among the atmospheric turbulence and the light pollution of cities.
During this colloquium the astrophotographers from the Department of Astronomy of the Aranzadi Science Society present a brief overview of the photography techniques, the processing methods and the equipment that an experienced or novice citizen astronomer can use.
Talk-colloquium about astrophotography in which Mikel Castander, Alberto Castrillo, Juan Carlos Martín and Eduardo Zubia will take part, among others.
