Berta Prieto (born in Barcelona in 1998) is an actress, playwright and director. It has been trained as an actress in different acting schools such as El Col·legi de Teatre, El Galliner, or El Estudio Laura Jou, among others. Currently, she is also studying the Degree in Humanities from the UOC.
She became known for the Autodefensa series, in which she participates as a co-creator (along with Miguel Ángel Blanca and Belén Barenys) and protagonist. The series produced by FILMIN and Boogaloo films, premiered in November 2022 at the European Film Festival of Seville and participated in different festivals such as the Alternativa Film Festival of Barcelona, or Series Mania. He received two Feroz Award nominations at the categories of "Best Script of a Series" and "Best Comedy Series". Too a received other nominations in the script category such as the ALMA Awards from the writers union, among others.
In theater, together with Lola Rosales, she makes her debut as a creator in the professional field with The Chinabum (dir. Paula Ribó, 2018). The show premiered at El Teatre La Gleva, and it could be seen in other theaters such as El Teatro del Barrio in Madrid or at the festival of High Season, among others.
In 2019, Lola Berta presents her second self-created show: FUCK YOU MODERN FAMILY (or all about my grandmother). Directed by Anna Serrano and co-produced by Sala Beckett and Bitò Produccions. He did a season at Sala Beckett.
In 2022, she received a creation grant from Sala Beckett, from which he His third show was born: Derecho a Pataleta. La missió més trepidant de Les Espies de veritat.
In 2023, Berta (together with Lola Rosales) presents two shows: El Chinabum Remix (remake of the first version that premiered in 2019) that premiered at El Teatre La Gleva in February.
And, currently, it is a resident company at Sala Beckett with its third show, Derecho a pataleta, in which she participates as a playwright, director and actress. It will be premiered at the end of April 2023 and is a production of La Sala Beckett and Las Chatis de Montalban.
Berta also participates in other fiction projects as a screenwriter.
