The film recounts young Antoine’s journey to the European Parliament in Strasbourg. He has just finished his studies in political science and is looking for a job. He would like to become a parliamentary assistant. And he would also like to get back with his former lover, Cléo, who works for the Parliament’s audiovisual department. Yet Cléo does not remember him fondly, and the deputies are thinking more about European elections and the raging war in Kosovo than finding a new assistant. During this week’s parliamentary session, the young man discovers the theatre of democracy and love, measuring commitment anxieties both political or romantic.
