Opening of the installation Kuboa by Julio Le Parc. The artist will be present.
The exhibition of the monumental installation Kuboa by the Argentinian artist Julio Le Parc happens because of Tabakalera’s interest in bringing and presenting artistic proposals outside the exhibition spaces. This is done by revisiting key figures in contemporary art and selecting artworks with the power to activate and transform public spaces.
Kuboa is a mobile, made up of 2,000 pieces of polished stainless steel, created by Julio Le Parc. The work is conceived specifically for Tabakalera’s Plaza and was produced on site over the last few weeks. It is the first in a series of interventions in the unique public spaces of the cultural building.
Julio Le Parc is considered to be an artist of historical importance. He is a forerunner of kinetic art and Op Art, a founding member of GRAV and winner of the Grand Prize at the Venice Biennale in 1966.
