Chiara Marañon

Chiara Marañón is Programming Director at MUBI, a global on-line film archive, head of acquisitions, platform curator and also in charge of distribution in cinemas in the UK. Chiara studied at the Universidad Pompeu Fabre, Barcelona, and at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión de San Antonio de los Baños, (Cuba), where she graduated, specialising in screenwriting. Subsequent to that, she completed a Master’s Degree in Film Directing at the University of Westminster, London, where she lives at present. She has directed and produced several shorts and worked with Iranian Maestro Abbas Kiarostami on La Chica de la Fábrica de Limones. Among her mentors, Lucrecia Martel, Carlos Reygades, Pedro Costa and Jaime Rosales.
