Approximately once a quarter, Tabakalera’s Cinema Hall becomes a concert hall, where the projector running and the big screen are accompanied by live drums and electric guitars.
At Tabakalera different disciplines coexist, and cinema gives us the opportunity to discover what happens when we mix them. If we think of cinema and music, we go back to the origins of the seventh art, when it was very common for silent films to be accompanied by live music, most of the time played on the piano. At Tabakalera we are going one step further, and since 2019 we have been programming sessions that allow you to experience what happens when contemporary musicians or bands compose and play live for sound films. Musicians such as Elle Belga, Olivier Arson, Amorante, Kokoshca or Ortopedia técnica have performed for films such as The Hill (Sidney Lumet), El reino (Rodrigo Sorogoyen), The birds (Alfred Hitchcock), No country for old men (Ethan Coen, Joel Coen) or Navajeros (Eloy de la Iglesia).
