Clara Montoya works with a wide range of techniques and formats, always from a sculptural perspective. She explores the narratives constructed in science and society, expanding and modifying the perception of the environment through modular pieces, collective actions, and material metamorphoses. Experimentation and research are essential parts of her artistic practice.

She completed her BA studies at Chelsea College of Art and her MA at the Royal College of Art in London, where she was awarded the Thames and Hudson/RCA prize for excellence in sculpture. She has enjoyed residencies, grants, and awards, including those from the Marcelino Botín Foundation, the Cité Internationale des Arts (Paris), The Cooper Union (New York), the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome, and the Junge Akademie der Künste (Berlin), nominated by Mona Hatoum.

She has recently completed the First International Research Residency at the CNIO (National Cancer Research Center)
