Seeing for ourselves - Women working with film, Margaret Williams, Gran Bretaña, 1983, 56'
This film, co-produced by Channel 4 and the British Arts Council, is focused on the experience of Circles, a collective born in 1980 to promote films made by women and to facilitate research and discussions around the experiences of women in the audiovisual sector. With an entirely peculiar narrative, the documentary introduces the voices and experiences of some Circles co-founders such as Joanna Davis, Tina Keane, Annabel Nicolson, Felicity Sparrow and Lis Rhodes. In addition, it includes two films by historical filmmakers claimed in their encounters: A House Divided, by Alice Guy (1913) and La Souriante Madamme Beudet, by Germaine Dulac (1922).
