Over the course of six days, we shall learn to construct a Soundsystem with new as well as recycled elements, such as loud speakers, amplifiers or car batteries. The construction of a small DIY audio system is perfect for becoming familiarized with the fundamentals of analogue audio and how sound waves work. We shall learn how to build individual loudspeakers and put together a Soundsystem that can later lead to a model for community use and sharing.
Through this activity, we shall revert in the laboratory to the workshops held in 2014 and 2015 for the collective construction of small mobile Soundsystems (Kalesoundsystem I & II), which were useful in terms of elementary knowledge beyond sound technology and as an experiment for the introduction of a community-managed, festive element, of a public nature.
