DosJotas

DosJotas, Madrid 1982, holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master in Contemporary Art from the European University of Madrid.

He has undertaken his work in terms of interventions in urban spaces (non-public) – always from a critical cultural, and urban point of view. His work is based upon the appropriation and reinterpretation of elements that already exist in the urban environment, with the city being considered a field for artistic action and intervention. His art undertakes a social critique, ranging from the gentrification processes that all large cities undergo to the ways to control mass societies and to the passiveness of citizens – all encompassed in the disappearance of public spaces.  His work has been in Madrid, New York, Berlin, Paris, San Francisco, Amsterdam, Miami, and Barcelona, amongst other cities.
He currently continues to undertake work based on social, political, and cultural critique.
