A classic story within the wuxia genre – a literary genre created, cultivated and read in China – in a world of swordsmen and swordswomen, clashes between families and superhuman abilities. In Dragon Inn, Emperor Zhao orders the death of the sons of his greatest rival. This leads to clashes between those who have to comply with the order, and those who try to prevent these deaths.
Directed by Taiwanese director King Hu in 1967, it is one of the most iconic martial arts films of all time. For this reason, in 2014 it was restored and the 4K copy was premiered at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, Cannes Classics section.
