Beginning with a presentation/debate on the differences between drawing and illustrating and the common ground that they share, we will try to clarify the features that correspond to each discipline. Through examples, we'll come to conclusions based upon the experience and points of view of all in attendance.
The practical aspect will be undertaken through an illustration game/exercise: using two words chosen at random as a starting point, and the image as a vehicle, each participant will create a sequence in which they must unite those two words, looking for conceptual or formal connections and turning them into an image. The goal is to connect with the power of the image as a vehicle for, and carrier of, meaning by recognizing its formal and conceptual components and using them to the benefit of what we want to express.
Once we have the sequence, we'll learn to lay it out in a very simple way so that each participant can make a small publication with their results.
