El mundo por montera is my second solo act. A sarcastic call to attention in the format of a zarzuela BUFA. Made in Asturias for the world. A new show where I display my universe: a traditional, rural and eccentric world that is also urban, critical and technological. My search is the true essence; a personal work taken to the stage; a sincere exhibition to discern between what's truly important and what is banal and dispensable.
A spectacle where there is more folklore, more popular music and more laughter, all held together with musical and vocal quality.

More than one thousand people cheered Rodrigo Cuevas on Saturday 4 March at the world première of El mundo por Montera at Laboral city of Culture in Gijón. A complete cross-section of an audience (grannies, lads, trendies, kids, rascals, gentlemen, folkies...) enthralled by the Asturian guru of musical and scenic syncretism. A show with a totally renewed repertoire, a marvellous newly-created wardrobe and a giant leap as regards his professional career. Sometimes a performance, heavy on witticism, sometimes a cabaret and sometimes a rave, sometimes reggaeton, sometimes a tribute to folklore from here and there -the planet's biggest living being-, to paraphrase the young man. There was also a marvellous collective catharsis at this spectacle because for more than 90 minutes the audience was thrilled, danced, laughed, got excited, shared and vindicated itself in an act of popular communication that is unparalleled.
