David Lynch's Eraserhead
EC. AMERICA. 1977 b/n. 90 min. NR-13.
Sinopsia: Henry Spencer, a depressing, frightened young man, suffers strange nightmares from
childhood, and tries to free himself from these nightmares by his imagination. One day his
friend Mary invites him to dinner, and he finds out that he has been the father of an early and
cruel child. Mary and the strange baby are set in Henry's house, where a lighted stage behind
the radiator shows the presence of a woman.
Materia
The music of the pair, composed by Fernando Junquera and Juanvi Fortea, flows quietly, but at
the same time they are disturbing. This conversation between guitar and keyboard creates a
dense set of good currents that correspond to David Lynch's depiction of Eraserhead in the
opera prima. The perfect communion of parallel universes, which mingle with subtlety and
elegance, and conform to perfection with these adjectives: rare, beautiful, and disturbing.
