Within the framework of the Ezorduan program – a program proposed in parallel with Dantz, Hirikilabs is organizing an introductory session to sound synthesis which includes a small workshop and public showcase. The type of synthesizer used in the sessions, which offers a considerable number of possibilities for sound creation, has a vast community of hobbyists who are interested in building and creating their own Eurorack-type systems.
Led by Kino Internacional (a member of the Reykjavik606 Duo), this workshop will teach you what an oscillator is and how to create a patch from scratch while likewise reviewing the history of synthesizer creators like Buchla and Moog. It will also teach participants how to build their own modular systems in true DIY fashion. To wrap it all up, a 100%-improvised, made-from-scratch live session will take place in order to put the true potential of these machines on display – albeit for sound production or for live performances.
