"I produced this work because I wanted to try out the idea of floating images in mid-air that had come to me when making Thunder. The entire work was shot frame by frame with long exposures. It was in the company dorm where I was living that I filmed this in the middle of the night after I had come home from work , and thought I might die as a result of what had become my daily pattern of sleeping for two hours in the morning then going off to work." 

Goodbye, Dragon Inn (Tsai Ming-liang, 2003)

In a cinema that has lost its past glory, King Hu's cult film Dragon Inn is being screened for the last time. A lone foreigner arrives in time for the last screening in an almost empty venue haunted by shadows and ghosts located behind the projector. Where are all the spectators who used to fill this cinema?
