Fernando Esposito

Fernando Esposito is Assistant Professor at the Department for Modern History at the University of Konstanz. His doctoral thesis scrutinized the aviation discourse in Italy and Germany and read it as a blueprint for a fascist mythical modernity: Fascism, Aviation and Mythical Modernity, Basingstoke 2015. He recently handed in his Habilitations-manuscript on the topos of the “contemporaneity of the noncontemporaneous” (Gleichzeitigkeit des Ungleichzeitigen). The book is a contribution to the history and theory of historical times. It examines the transformation of European understandings of time and history and the chronopolitics that arose from modern temporality.
