Florian Graf (b.1980 in Basel, Switzerland) studied architecture at the ETH in Zurich and fine art at the Edinburgh College of Art. He was a postgraduate scholar at the Royal Drawing School in London and Fulbright Fellow at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. As a student, he was a co-founder of the ETH House of Science in Afghanistan. The project was the result of the Jubilee competition within which he and two of his fellow students suggested they build a university in Bamiyan instead of an ephemeral pavilion in Zurich. After its completion in 2016, he worked with Robert Wilson in New York, has lived in Berlin during an IAAB-residency, in Rome as a member of the Istituto Svizzero and, after some time in Athens, as a scholar at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. He has received a number of awards, including the Swiss Art Award, the DAAD scholarship, the fellowship of the Sommerakademie of the Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern or the Prix Visarte.

Amongst exhibitions in galleries, Florian Graf engaged in a number of art projects in public space such as Ticket Pagoda for the new football stadium in Lausanne, Künstler verschenkt 25’000.- for the City of Bern, Stultitia II on the river Rhein from Basel to Rotterdam in collaboration with CBK Rotterdam and the Basel Historical Museum, Light Shower for the City of Zug, Columnity between Kunstraum Riehen and Fondation Beyeler, Tugendtempel on Wettsteinplatz during Art Basel 2013 or Ghost Light Light House on Lake Constance in collaboration with ZF Kunststiftung.
