The audiovisual laboratory of Tabakalera collaborated with the British Council to present “Future Screens Film Lab: From Short to Feature”, the second edition in Spain of "Future Screens", a two-day film lab for emerging talents and future leaders of the film industry who want to gain the tools and skills necessary to further their careers and create a network within the sector.
On this occasion, the lab is aimed at filmmakers who wish to take the leap from producing a short film to a feature film. It will be open to teams of writers/directors/producers of up to 3 people who apply with a shared project. However, individuals who are not part of an existing team can also apply.
The deadline to apply is 13th December at 23:59 CEST. If your application is successful the British Council will cover the cost of your training. We'll inform you on 20-21st December if you've been selected, and at that point will provide you with further details about the programme contents and wraparound activities. The training will be in English and is free of charge.
Designed and developed by Samm Haillay in collaboration with the BFI, the UK's leading organisation for film and moving image, the purpose of “Future Screens Film lab: From Short to Feature” is to provide filmmakers with the tools and skills necessary to create and collaborate on their first feature film. During the lab, participants will be able to explore the similarities and differences between the creative process behind creating a short and a feature, dive into script structure, discover financial and pitching tips, as well as understand the importance of failing. Programme workshops will include:
- It’s not just a different ball park it’s a different sport
- Following the money - financing and pitching session
- My brilliant film idea and how it never happened
- How to read a script – first audience tool kit
- Anatomy of your project
- The Arena
This exciting project is organised by British Council Spain, the BFI (British Film Institute), and Tabakalera - Centro Internacional de Cultura Contemporánea, with the support of the British Embassy in Spain.
