65 million years ago the animal world changed drastically. All land animals of more than 15 kg went extinct, with the exception of crocodiles. The dominant dinosaurs disappeared forever from the earth. The origin of this extinction is the most terrifying event that one can imagine without escape. Like in the film Melancholia by Lars Von Trier, the earth is hit by a huge impact of a celestial body.

Guided by geologist Koenraad Van den Driesche we follow the registration of this event in the geological layers of that age through the city. Although we can't observe the event itself, this walk will take you through interesting parts of the city and gives a good insight into the geological and historical evolution of Donostia.

Advisory: Some physical effort is necessary, and not the whole walk is accessible for people with restricted mobility (adaption is possible on demand). Underaged people must be accompanied by an adult. Meeting place: Information Point at Tabakalera.
