Esther Ferrer, an award-winning multidisciplinary artist from San Sebastian, presents this performance on the theme of communication within the framework of the carte blanche that San Sebastian 2016 has given her to contribute to the European Capital of Culture’s programme.
I’ll tell you about my life includes the participation of ten people using sign language and another ten each speaking in their own language. The performance will combine the visual and sonorous aspects of language, and will culminate in a choir of gestures and voices where different languages, cultures and sensitivities will interact in one visual and sonorous arrangement. An activity that seeks to contribute to the visibility of sign language and to celebrate the diversity of ways of thinking, expressing and communicating that each language has.
This proposal is part of the DSS2016EU's Carte Blanche, an invitation to certain artists to make proposals which will be included in the DSS2016EU programme and revolve around exchange, dialogue and developing empathy.
