Imanol Miner

His interests are language, equality between speakers and languages, sexual liberation, and its precursor—feminism. As a result, he is accustomed to building bridges between apparently unrelated areas. Between 2003 and 2004 he had the opportunity to get to know the Maori people and the recovery of their language first hand during a year-long trip to New Zealand (Aotearoa). He has returned on two occasions since then—most recently a year ago—to find out about the evolution of the Maori language over the last 14 years.

Imanol Miner Aristizabal has a degree in Basque Philology from the University of Deusto (1997). Following the path of socio-linguistics and by the hands of Eusko Ikaskuntza, in 2002 he studied the HIZNET post-graduate course in linguistic planning. Over recent years he has focussed on cultural studies. In 2009 he qualified as an Expert on Transmitting Basque Culture through Mondragon University. He concluded his Master of Social Anthropology at the University of the Basque Country in 2018. He works as a language expert and since 2004 has advised and helped ‘Basquify’ the business employment sector.
