Immaterial is a space for reflection and experimentation on digitally mediated realities.
Immaterial is a space for reflection and experimentation on digitally mediated realities. A stable line of work of Tabakalera in its transversality that is made up of meetings, activities, projects and calls aimed at offering a multifaceted and sometimes contradictory vision of what happens when we take refuge behind a screen or inhabit virtual space. Self-representation, inhabiting the digital, technological solutionism, avatars or human and synthetic relations become the subject matter of this line of work.
The ludification of society and the logics of today's visual culture increasingly question us in codes and languages close to or derived from video games and lead us to digital spaces or territories that propose virtuality as an immaterial and (at the same time) real place.
Virtual Tabakalera:
Part of the digital initiative of this project takes place in this virtual version of Tabakalera created on the Mozilla hubs platform, where exhibitions, initiatives and other projects can be found. Virtual Tabakalera is a space created by Jean Pierre Vargas and Pablo M. Garrido for the Immaterial project.
