Isidoro Valcárcel Medina (Murcia, 1937) is one of the pioneers of conceptual art in Spain. His biography includes studies in Architecture and Fine Arts in Madrid and the National Prize for Plastic Arts in 2007. But beyond titles and exhibitions in the most important art centres of the world, we could define Isidoro Valcárcel Medina as a rebel artist, quiet, coherent, radical, social, random, humorous, political, avant-garde and pure nineteenth century. We say nineteenth century for its classic style of wearing Spanish cape and for the communication it establishes with its interlocutors: with Isidoro you can speak in person, by telephone or by postal correspondence, there is nothing of mails, last generation mobiles, or social networks.
