Ismael Manterola

Ismael Manterola Ispizua (Zumaia, 1966) is lecturer on the History of Art at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UPV/EHU. He completed his PhD with a thesis entitled Hermes y los pintores vascos de su tiempo (Hermes and the Basque painters of his time) published in 2006, and currently he combines teaching with research and collaboration with the media. He was an art critic for the newspaper BERRIA and has curated various exhibitions. His main lines of work focus on modern and contemporary Basque art.
