After starting his career as director of documentaries and videoclips, he combined his work as a press artichoke, trend magazines and video games, and worked for six years at Manga Films.
In 2005, Cameo joined the prestigious independent film distributor as editorial director.
In 2007, Filmin was one of the three founders of the reference portal for independent Spanish cinema and is the editorial director. The platform is also available in Portugal and Mexico.
Since its founding, Filmin has won numerous awards, including the Premi Ciutat de Barcelona, the Premi Sant Jordi, the Premi Tendències de El Mundo, the Diario de Mallorca and the Time Out Prize, the Ramon Lllull Prize, the country's most innovative company, among others. In 2021, according to the Observatory of Culture, it was declared the Best Cultural Enterprise in the country.
Between 2012 and 2018, Jaume Ripoll became Vice-President of EUROVOD, the first European association to distribute online cinema operating in 28 countries of the European Union.
In 2010, Jaume Ripoll founded the Atlantic Film Fest, and it was the first film festival to offer all its programming on the Internet. The eleventh edition had more than 750,000 viewers between Internet (Filmin) and Offline (Palma de Mallorca) parties. The Festival has also been held internationally in six countries: Portugal, Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Albania.
Jaume Ripoll has participated in festivals in Berlin, In-Edit or Sitges, among others. He has also been invited to give lectures or workshops at major European festivals such as Cannes, Venice, Berlin, Locarno, Rotterdam, Donostia, EuropaCinema Prague and Unifrance Paris.
In terms of teaching, he was director of the Master's Degree in Online Distribution at the Oberta University of Catalonia between 2013 and 2017, and was a visiting professor at the UAB, UB, UPF, PUIGC, Carlos III and Camilo José Cela universities.
In 2015, he debuted in production with "Barcelona, winter night." It was a box office success in Spain, with more than 65,000 spectators and 7 nominations for the Gaudí Awards.
In recent years he has been the executive producer of titles such as the winners of the Malaga Festival (El vientre del mar and Ojos negros), the multi-award-winning (Samantha Hudson) and Jean François i el sentit de la vida (presented at the Berlin Film Festival), as well as the first series of Filmine (Doctor Portuondo).
He has also participated in the writing of the feature film "Somos gente honrada", directed by Alejandro Marzoa. He has been to the Official Section of the Malaga Festival and has awarded six Mestre Mateo.
