Javiera de la Fuente

 

A Chilean living in Seville. Researcher and flamenco dancer.

Following an initial collaboration in Máquinas de Vivir (Machines of Life) by Pedro G. Romero (2014), she developed near-performative languages in unconventional performance spaces. She then sought to bring together critical thinking with dance in hybrid formats such as theatrical conference, using resources like narrative and danced voice, flamenco, ritual and improvisation. She has recently performed in spaces including Bauhaus Desseu La Frase (The Phrase),  Bergen Assembly 2019 (Aire del Mar, Canciones de la Guerra Social Contemporánea (Air of Ma, Songs of the Contemporary Social War) and the European Forum For Advanced Practice at CA2M with the talk El Drama de una Realidad Sur (Drama of a Southern Reality). She is currently preparing her next work, titled Envioletá, a danced investigation about Violeta Parra.
