Jazar

Jazar is a space for creation, a community project open to anyone wanting to create, learn and share knowledge. They are situated in the Pamplona neighbourhood of Etxabakoitz, a suburb where resources are scarce, giving a second life to the building of an old ikastola. And as it was once an ikastola, it has the spaces typical of a school; a distribution adequate for everything JAZAR is.

This project was born in 2013, at the height of the crisis, when institutions failed to meet the needs of the city and citizen empowerment was necessary to promote culture and creativity in Iruñea. As a result, JAZAR was created, a place under continuous transformation, a space under construction. It is a 100% self-managed project in which each partner adds his/her grain of sand to the collective, in which everything is decided horizontally, breaking away from the vertical hierarchies we are accustomed to.
