Juguetes, María Luisa Bemberg, Argentina, 1978, 12'

This short film, shot at the Rural Exposition, is a testimony that, based on seventy interviews with 9 and 10 year-old girls and boys, explores the behavioral patterns imposed by conventional education and the results obtained. Boys are educated in a specific way, with very different vital objectives, and toys reflect this discrimination: kitchenettes, dolls, hairdryers, cosmetic kits, the whole domestic world for girls. Creative games, those that awaken the imagination (trains, cars, games to build, men in space), are intended for boys.

Naomi Campbell-No es fácil convertirse en otra persona, Nicolás Videla, Camila José Donoso, Chile, 2013, 85'

This award-winning Chilean film combines documentary and fiction to explore the life of a poor transgender woman named Yermen. Her neighbors think she’s a witch, and her boyfriend is unsatisfied with their love life, but Yermen’s fire won’t be extinguished so easily. Hearing about a plastic surgery TV competition, she decides to try out to complete her gender reassignment surgery. There, Yermen meets an enigmatic woman who hopes to emulate fashion model Naomi Campbell. As the women become friends, Yermen embarks upon a path toward a major life crossroad.
