Kako Cavalié (1971 Rodez, France)

Double bass player and musician who enjoys losing himself in experimentation with his guembri / saz and other experimental electronic installations.

He began his music career as a bassist with rock groups in the Basque Country in the mid-1980s. He would soon be enchanted by experimental music, jazz and world music. His musical practice would bring him into contact with various music scenes. In addition to his work as a visual artist, Kako has composed for theatre, dance and image. A free electron of musical creation, his appetite for meeting others has driven him to the experimental scene as well as free jazz and noise rock. He has shared the stage with groups such as The Ex, Voodoo Muzak, Beñat Achiary and Mezan Kerbaj.

He has also worked with light and shade, in parallel with his musical work, since the 1990s. Founding member of Insula (a universal collective for art and design focussed on research into movement and graphic design) geared towards stage design and new technologies, he continues his research into sound and movement via in situ installations that combine interactive devices and plastic, visual and sonic creation.
