Kate Strong, born in London at the beginning of the 60's was trained (beaten into shape) as a classical ballet dancer for 8 years at The Royal Ballet School, England.
After which, she went directly to Patricia Neary's Zurich Ballet, George Balanchine´s satellite company in Europe. Between 1984 and 1994 she continued her dancing career with William Forsythe´s Frankfurt Ballet. Frankfurt´s cultural scene in the 80´s included The Ensemble Modern, Michael Gielen in the Opera, Tom Stromberg´s Theater Am Turm and Adolf Dresen in the Schauspielhaus, opening up a vast spectrum of approaches to the arts. Kate then worked for Johann Kresnik in the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, Berlin and 2 years later with Frank Castorf. She has worked as a freelance artist since 2003, working on diverse projects and theater productions with numerous directors, composers and choreographers. At present Kate Strong performs with The Royal Ballet of Flanders in Antwerp in the role of The Woman in Historical Costume in Forsythe´s ´Artifact´, Mathieu Bauer´s ´Please Kill´ in France, New York and Germany. One woman show ´Narcisse´ in France and Switzerland Karin Henkel´s Macbeth in the Muenchener Kammerspiel. From 2012, Karin Henkel´s Tales from the Vienna Woods, in Zurich Schauspielhaus.
