Koldo Tapia

Koldo Tapia, born in Zizurkil in 1946, where she lived until 1969. From that year she was part of the "Herri Gaztedia" youth movement for three years. Fleeing from police pressure, she spent another 3 in Barcelona. The political and trade-union activities she started at that time continued in Bizkaia until 1979, spending a season or two in Franco’s hospitality, ending her participation in politics and trade-unionism that year. She spent three years completing the studies she had not finished as a young woman and from 1981 to 1991 she worked as translator and cultural expert at the Town Hall of Santurtzi. From then and until her retirement, she worked at the Association of Friends of Bertsolarismo.
