In 1963, a series of Galician intellectuals in exile, including the painter, writer and theorist Isaac Díaz Pardo, founded the Laboratorio de Formas [Shape Laboratory of Forms] in Argentina. Their intention was to recover the avant-garde art —a series of key people and works that disappeared during the Spanish dictatorship—. In addition, they wanted to explore the possibilities offered by the art and industry binomial to develop models of creation, production and dissemination which are capable of modernizing artistic activity, propelling it into the future.

The project of Fran Meana reactivates the legacy of the Laboratorio de Formas. On the one hand, he reproduces the shapes proposed by this group, on the other hand, he generates a new text based on the computerised analysis of the bookDiscusión sobre la organización de las Industrias Manufactureras [Discussion on the Organization of Manufacturing Industries], published in 1960 by Díaz Pardo. The book analyzes the social and political dimension of the artistic production, and explores the connections between art and work.rk.
