Located east of Paris, the Forest of Vincennes dates back to the 11th century. Since then, it was a private area of the kings of France, first a hunting ground and then a walking area, until it became a public park as a counterpoint to the Bois de Bologne at the western end of the city. With its nearly one thousand hectares full of history(s), the Bois de Vincennes, the largest green area in Paris, is many things at once: a lost paradise happily rediscovered "for everyone"; a natural refuge for relaxation, liberation, reverie and nostalgia for its "inhabitants", a magical collective chimera that everyone experiences in their own way.
