19:00 Screening: Light Music, Lis Rhodes, UK, 1975 - 1977, 25 ’, 16mm Z Hall
A session about the work of British artist and filmmaker Lis Rhodes on the publication of the anthology of her writings Telling Invents Told edited by María Palacios Cruz (Elias Querejeta Zine Eskola) and published by The Visible Press, with a special screening by Light Music (1975-1977), key work of European expanded cinema. In Light Music, Rhodes proposes a total correlation between sound and image: “what you see is what you hear”. Work of great playful and participatory character that includes the public located between the two projection screens, it is also a feminist statement that aims to underline the lack of women within the canon of European classical music. A projection, an installation, a performance and a concert, Light Music is a “movie” that interrogates and expands the cinematographic language, as well as the relationship of cinema to other arts.
