Lucía Bayón Bio TBK
Descripcion

Lucía Bayón (Madrid, 1994) carries out her research through sculpture and writing, conceiving the different elements that make up her artistic practice – object and language – as rhetorical devices within a semantic field where the functioning, the conditions and the power of specific production methods are addressed.

She has a degree in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid and the Universität der Künste in Berlin and completed an MFA at the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam. She received the Plastic Arts Scholarship from the Botín Foundation (Santander, 2019), won awards in the competitions Generations (Montemadrid Foundation, 2020) and Plastic Arts Circuits (Madrid, 2020), and has been a resident at the CRA Matadero (Madrid , 2022). Her work has been widely shown in project spaces, galleries and institutions throughout Europe, and she recently held her first solo exhibition in Spain (Intersticio, Madrid, 2022).

Bayón is co-founder of the travelling project digestivo, a curatorial initiative that combines the exhibition of the work of other artists and the exploration of fermentation, accommodation and food.
