Fireflies IV (learning to die in the Anthropocene) is another link in the Firelifes project, an open and collaborative work process built around two axes: one, a performance artefact developed for the meeting of celebration and assembly, popular and critical, public plaza and common dance; the other, a series of activities designed to suit the spaces where they will take place. This meeting is only possible in a poetic and political dimension arising from the hybridisation between research and activities.
In short, Fireflies is a work of dance and live cinema where a flamenco dancer (a person removed from the film context) dialogues on stage with the audiovisual archives that constitute dances of the death of neoliberalism. The raw material for these dances are the materials and stories arising from the work process, as well as the recollection of experiences, images, dances, songs and poetry.
