Luis de la Cruz Salanova (Madrid, 1977). Historian, librarian and cofounder of the hyperlocal newspaper Somos Malasaña (the first online hyperlocal newspaper in a large Spanish city). Urban life and the city permeate all his work as a journalist, historian and essayist. His current research into the nature of peripheries will soon lead to two works: Barrionalismo; and Cipriano Mera, hombre de las afueras (Cipriano Mera, Man of the Fringes). His print publications to date are En la batalla urbana, lucha de clases y gentrificación en Madrid (In the Urban Battle, Class Wars and Gentrification in Madrid (self-published), and Contra el running. Corriendo hasta morir en la ciudad postindustrial (Against Running. Running to Death in the Post-Industrial City) (Piedra Papel Libros).
