Magical gestures and the crisis of the present -CANCELLED-

Emma Kunz’s surprising graphic legacy leads us to think about the historical circumstances under which magical forms of healing have been practised. Although from a contemporary perspective, and beyond their value to end with a notably reductionist historiography of art in terms of the phenomenon of abstraction, it has become difficult to separate the interest in these mysterious techniques capable of intervening in natural determinism and the ever-
more profound emergence of cultural movements and organisations looking for their reason for being in a refreshed vision of mythology and paganism. Perhaps it was the short-circuit that was produced to symbolic order in recent decades which has now made it more urgent than ever to conceptually face this operator, being so powerful that it has 
accompanied humanity through time eternal: magical thought. Yet far from an affirmation that assured technological development would demystify the world, what we see -ever-more glaringly so- is its definitive re-enchantment.
