Maia Villot

Maia Villot de Diego was born in 1977 in Seville. She currently lives and works in Bilbao. Among other things, she is an artist, bookshop owner and curator. She became interested in drama and trained in theatre, dance and performance while studying art at the University of the Basque Country, where she specialised in sculpture.

From 2004, she began to work on collective creations with other performance artists. At an individual level, she has created the performance pieces Las que son O-Diosas, Play-Back en Directo and Échale la culpa I, II y III. With Isaak Erdoiza, she organised La Cosa en Casa, a meeting in which artists from different disciplines were invited to show their work in domestic contexts.
