The winners of the Goya for Best Original Score for the film Akelarre (Pablo Agüero, 2020) will share this recent awarded-winning score’s creation process, as well as other important film work from their career as musicians and composers.

Up till now, all of the talking film sessions have been with directors discussing their creation processes: scripts, casting screen tests, locations, filming decisions, etc.

But what about the creation process for a film’s score? How is music design created? At what moment do scripts and musical performances begin to coexist? How are instruments selected and recorded? How does one move towards orchestration? How are contemporary and classic influences combined? At what point do process models become themes? To what degree are editing and mixing also components of a film’s music?
