Maite Vélaz

Maite Vélaz (Pamplona, 1976) is an artist. Lives in Tafalla. 

Learning and knowing from one's own biography, and passing through the work of others. 

During 2014, Vélaz classified and organised a number of family audiovisual materials to produce Toldo, which was shown the following year at Puerta with other videos. Listening to certain types of music reveals a text.

In 2015 she created the publication La hija y los padres comen and presented it at a session of Analphabet Orquesta at which several videos were also screened.  

She had previously shown her work in various venues: contrapuertas, ESTRUCTURA, toldo, canal, PAVIMENTO (2015)  in the vestibule of the of El Sario building of Navarra Public University, Pamplona, 1½ months. Visitas y re visitas: Recoletas y retablo (2013) in Level F, two days. Objetos que participan (2012) at the Horno de la Ciudadela, Pamplona, 33 days. La gente de aquí conoce la ciudad. Rememoraciones y directos (2010) at the Cuchillería Losada, Granada, 1 morning.

She has been awarded scholarships and grants by the Government of Navarra (2007), MUSAC (2011), Bilboarte (2014) and Eremuak (2015).
