Makea tu vida

Makea tu vida is a non-profit cultural association. Through its social and educational work it encourages reuse and open design, and raises environmental awareness around the problem of waste in our society.

Its core work areas are design, reuse and communication, with a particular focus on: generating environmental proposals and researching new typologies by experimenting with waste products and developing collective and interdisciplinary participation strategies for raising environmental awareness.

The association believes in design for creating and learning. Not as an aesthetic tool nor as something that adds value, but as the process itself of creating an object. It stands up for the environment, its designs are based on recycling and minimising waste, and it does not use toxic or polluting products. Makea tu vida leans towards participative and organic design - rather than seeing the designer as someone who beautifies shapes - and wants to stimulate reflection and, above all, action.
