María Benito

 

Maria Benito Píriz (Durango,1992) holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country (2014) and a Master of Research and Creation in Art (2015) from the same university. She works with various disciplines including sculpture, audio and writing. She was awarded funding from the Biscay Regional Government in 2018/19 and from the Bilbaoarte Foundation in 2017, and her work was one of the solo exhibitions selected in 2018. She exhibited her work Escenarios (Scenarios) that same year with the Eginberri ​project in the Guggenheim Bilbao. She has been selected in the ​Muestra Itinerante Ertibil (Ertibil Travelling Exhibition) on several occasions,​by Getxoarte in 2019 and 2020 (a first prize and a solo exhibition that year) and in the​Muestra de Arte Joven de la Rioja (La Rioja Exhibition of Young Art), winning third prize in 2017. Other work includes the exhibition in​Artisten Meeting Pointa by​Okela and the book The Most Dramatic Panda EVER written during 2017.
