María Ángeles Infante Barbosa (Huelva, 1991). María Ángeles graduated from the University of Seville with a Degree in Art History, and completed her Master’s Degree in Contemporary, Technological, and Performative Art from the UPV/EHU. She is currently studying for her Doctorate in Contemporary Art. María Ángeles’s research is based on questioning virtual identity, seeking to elaborate new narratives to humanise cyberbodies and their virtual vestiges, perceiving the world we inhabit as a territory for visual exploration.
Her projects stem from questioning virtual identity and performance connected to new technologies, leading María Ángeles to frequently address the public through social media. In her artistic practice, María Ángeles often acts to alter materials. On one hand, she produces analogue images of virtual elements that do not exist, and on the other hand, she modifies and converts real images into digital information, dealing with disciplines such as augmented reality, expanded photography, and meta-performance.
