Mireia Massagué is the Director of the Chillida Leku museum, a role she assumed in October 2019. Massagué previously worked at the National Theatre of Catalonia and
the Gaudí Exhibition Center in Barcelona. Her experience includes work with public and private companies associated with the tourism and culture industry, and has also
collaborated on cultural projects and festivals. Massagué earned her Executive Master in Marketing and Sales from the ESADE Business School in 2014, and participated in
the first edition of the 2015 Oxford Cultural Leaders programme in collaboration with the SAÏD Business School.
In April 2019, the Chillida Leku museum reopened its doors, marking a new era for this important cultural site. Founded by Eduardo Chillida during his life, the museum is
home to the most complete collection of the artist’s works. Since its original opening in 2000, this Eduardo Chillida-dedicated museum has upheld its mission of promoting and
preserving his work. In order to take on this new stage, the Eduardo Chillida Estate has been working with support from Hauser & Wirth to create a sustainable model for the
museum, ensuring it remains for future generations. "We want the museum to be an international meeting place that is integrated into the region as well as the local
community", says Mireia Massagué.
